Brownie Service Star Backing; Each membership star represents one year of registration as a Girl Scout. Membership Stars are worn on Disks below the troop or group numerals on the sash or the right side of the vest or tunic from right to left.

Service Star Backing:

  • Daisy Service Star Disks are Royal Blue
  • Brownie Service Star Disks are Light Green
  • Junior Service Star Disks are Yellow
  • Cadette Service Star Disks are White.
  • Senior Service Star Disks are Red.
  • Ambassador Service Star Disks are Dark Blue

 

The beginning of Girl Scouts was started in 1912 in the Savannah, Georgia home of Juliette Low and was later chartered by the US Congress on March 16, 1950.

Girl Scouting develops values to guide their actions and provide the foundation for sound decision making; and contribute to the improvement of society through their abilities, leadership, and working with others as a team.

Levels of Girl Scouts

Young Girls join Girl Scouting according to their grade level in school:

  • Daisy Girl Scouts; K – 1st
  • Brownie: 2nd – 3rd
  • Junior; 4th – 5th
  • Cadettes; 6th – 8th
  • Seniors; 9th – 10th
  • Ambassadors; 11th – 12th
