Unit Numerals are worn on the left sleeve just below the Council Shoulder Patch. They identify the Scouting unit the Scout or Scouter is registered.

Unit Numerals can be one, two, three or four numbers as approved by the local Councils.

Units can be a Cub Scout Pack, Scout Troop, Venture Crew or a Sea Scout Ship.

Current Unit numbers are cloth, green on tan. The BSA Supply catalog numbers are: numbers 18070 through 18078 (last digit indicates the unit number for 0 through 8); for unit number 9, order No. 10406. Therefore, Unit Numbers for Scouts and Scout leaders are sewn on the left sleeve at position 2. Also, they are touching the council shoulder emblem when the veteran unit bar is not worn.

Multiple digit numbers are special-ordered. The BSA Supply catalog numbers are: 2-digit, number. 10409; 3-digit, number. 10410; 4-digit, number, 10411.
