Merit Badge Sash Narrow; The purpose of a merit badge sash is to display all the merit badges earned by a Scout, Venturer Scouts and Sea Scouts.

Each merit badge patch represents an interest area that a Scout has mastered.

The sash is a way for Scouts to display their accomplishments.

It is only worn with the official Scout uniform at formal events over the right shoulder.
